One Killed in Fire Exchange With Police

Police spokesman George Bardue, has reported an early Thursday gun fire exchange between three suspected armed robbers and officers of the Police Support Unit or PSU in Monrovia, leaving one alleged robbers dead.

Mr. Bardue said the Police encountered the alleged armed men (yet to be identified), while on their regular patrol on Johnson Street in Monrovia with the suspects allegedly carrying a generator and a motorcycle. Bardue said the suspects opened fire on the police, thus putting them under serious threats.

He said the PSU officers however returned fire to stop the threat, at which time one of the suspects was killed. “Two of the suspects escaped with the arm but police are in hot pursuit of them. Two live bullets were found along with a knife on the person of the victim,” Bardue said.

The Police have however mandated the public to assist in identifying the two escapees and their hideouts. Mr. Bardue said police have confiscated a generator and a motorcycle the suspected criminals allegedly used in terrorizing peaceful citizens.
