Police in Nimba get motorbikes

Bikes provided by the Government of Liberia

The Government of Liberia has provided 12 motorbikes to police in Nimba County. The bikes were donated to the government by the United Nations Development Program.

The Liberia National Police region three director Col. Morris Teamah said the donation is intended to enhance the work of the police in Nimba County.Col. Teamah said the bikes will also help the police to timely respond to crime scene.

Receiving the donation, Nimba County police commander Col. Augustin Warrie thanked the government for the donation. Meanwhile, Col. Warrie has called on the people of Nimba to seen the police as friends and work along with the LNP.

He emphasized that in the wake of UNMIL drawdown, citizens need to work closely with state securities to combat crimes in their respective communities. The police commander said he has begun meeting with citizens residing along the various border points in the county.

According to him, the meeting is intended to make citizens feel pride and have hope and trust in state securities assigned in their communities. Commander Warrie stressed the need for security forces to work along with the citizens to maintain a violent-freed society. -Editing by Jonathan Browne
