Pres. Sirleaf joins mourners at former EPS boss funeral

President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf joined a cross-section of family members, relatives, friends and former colleagues at the funeral marking the saddened home-going of the former boss of the Executive Protection Service (EPS), Mr. Othello Warrick.

An Executive Mansion release said President Sirlead led an array of government officials to join the bereaved family during the funeral service at the Providence Church on Ashmun Street. The late Othello Warrick died on Saturday, August 1, 2015 – early Saturday morning less than 24 hours after experiencing a brain aneurism at the Aspen Medical Clinic in Monrovia.

Prior to serving in the capacity as Head of the EPS, Mr. Warrick was Deputy Minister of Defense for Administration during the first term of Madam Sirleaf.  Led by the Government of Liberia, family and friends made desperate efforts to ensure the medical evacuation of the late Warrick to Dakar, Senegal on Friday, July 31, 2015 for emergency procedures. The medvac slated for Saturday, August 1, 2015 failed due to bad weather.

The former EPS boss did not survive and was pronounced dead early Saturday. Meanwhile, the remains of the late Warrick was flown to the United States of America on Friday, August 21, 2015 where he will be interred.-Press Release
