Progress provokes envy

-Senator Amah Jallah

Gbarpolu County Senator Armah Z. Jallah, says when a person is progressive in an entity or community, others get envious. “When you progress, it is when you see the Israelites and Jews into your life”, says Senator Jallah, who is vying for the Pro-Tempore seat in the senate.

Speaking at the Forum for Democratic Reform (FDR) in Monrovia, he said his progress and effort in his community has shown him his real friends.

He also commented on President Sirleaf’s Annual Message, specifically of Government’s commitment to protect the property of community land owners.

Senator Jallah noted that property rights are one of the main objectives of the Government and his county is a beneficiary of such effort.

He said the people of Gbarpolu should have right to invest on their land and to invite investors to help decrease the poverty rate in their area, adding that a free society cannot exist if there are no efforts by Government on the resources.

The Senator narrated that the lands owned by private citizens will not be invested on if those lands do not have title deeds and there will be no claim or discrimination by the Government if the land is not owned by the state like the Sime Darby land.

He recalled that Government signed a concession on lands in communities but some communities’ titles were not found after such signing.

Meanwhile, Senate Jallah has urged citizens to fight to maintain a free country and to help reduce poverty in Liberia because some citizens in Monrovia do not have food to eat some days because of the poverty status of the Country.

He further noted that the Government is still faced with challenges in the health sector because there are no good facilities for citizens to be taken care of properly and no quality educational back up. “We need to fight to maintain a good Liberia”, he concluded.
