Rep. Cooper commits to fighting drugs in District#5

 In an effort to curtail crimes and illicit drugs in Montserrado County and its environs, Montserrado County Electoral District#5 Representative Priscilla Abram Cooper commits to tackling drugs abuse as part of her key priorities in addressing security threats in the district.

District Five situated on the outskirts of Paynesville, comprises at least 19 communities, including parts of Du- Port Road, Paynesville Town Hall, Redlight, Neezo, Bassa Town, and 72nd Communities. It has seen increase in crimes and illicit drugs.

 But speaking during a “Thank You” parade in the district over the weekend, Rep. Cooper said her office will introduce drastic measures to curtail and combat drugs and other illicit substances that are destroying youth of the area.

Rep. Cooper promised to be vigorous in her efforts to ensure maximum security for her constituents while stressing education, sanitation, and empowerment as among her top priorities.

She also promised to introduce skill programs to benefit youth of the district, while emphasizing the need for unity among the people.

“I’ve come to do the right thing you need, I’ve come to serve you; with your corporation, together we can develop our district and that can only be done with unifiers and togetherness as one family”, she said.

Prior to her triumph as Representative of the district, she noted that division among the people has hindered development, but she has come to address such hindrance.

“I’ve come to ensure that everyone be a part of the district, no matter who you are, I’m your Representative; I have come to serve not only my office, my supporters, but every resident of district number five. I am Representative not for one but for all, to ensure everyone has the opportunity to achieve their full potential and dreams.”

She promised to address road connectivity, electricity, pipe-borne water in and around the district, working through citizens’ engagements to identify and overcome confronting challenges in the district, while vigorously advocating for better legislative benefits.

Representative Prescilla Abram Cooper replaces former Montserrado County Electoral District Number 5 Representative Thomas Fallah, currently representing Lofa County Electoral District One as well as serving as Deputy Speaker in the 55th Legislature. Editing by Jonathan Browne
