Weah Receives Rousing Welcome in Bong

-Promises to Keep Working

Thousands of Liberians, including men, women, student groups as well as local farmers gathered on Monday at the Nyeforla Bride to welcome Liberia’s president, George Weah, and his second term running mate, Jewel Howard Taylor.

Weah is continuing his camping trail to Bong, the third most populous county in Liberia.

At the bridge that bounds Bong and Margibi, joyous Liberians chanted a supported CDC slogan (“Weah-Taylor 12 years! “Weah-Taylor 12 years”) as the President arrived along with Madam Taylor.

Following that, the President led the team to the Salala General Market which was constructed by his government and dedicated the facility.

“We will keep working for you, to those who squandered your resources, tell them to wait yet, we are not done developing Liberia, we are not done building roads, we will work for you,” Weah said during the dedication.

After the dedication, the Liberian Leader was taken to Totota, where the Coalition for Democratic Change CDC Salala District Chapter presented him to the district, Promising a one-round victory.

As part of the program, the First time Voters of the district petitioned the President, Rep. Edward Karfiah for the Senate and the candidature of Williams Thompson for the Representative post of Salala District.

Rep. Karfiah is a member of the People’s Unification Party which supports the reelection of Weah.

President George Weah after receiving the petition, thanked the Salala District citizens for their support.

He promised a Scholarship to the Chairperson of the First time Voters of the district for being eloquent.

He called on Bongese to Support the reelection of the Weah-Taylor government, Representative Edward Karfiah for the Senate, and Williams Thompson for District 6.

A few minutes after his speech, the President left for Sanoyea, the home of Vice President Jewel Howard Tylor.

Weah is expected to spend about four days in Bong.

He will visit several other places including, Kokoyah, Jorquelleh, Zota, Kpaai, and Tokpaplee Districts amongst others.

During these visits, Weah will dedicate projects including the Jenepleta Clinic which was constructed by CDC Lawmaker, Marvin Cole and one of the biggest radio stations in the country.
