Who Coaches Lone Star?

Liberia’s national soccer team, the Lone Star is currently on the hunt for a new management team. Sports Ambassador George Weah, has named 10 former players of the national team to form part of a vetting committee to identify a topnotch coach for the Lone Star, which has suffered series of defeats in international competitions.

Weah has selected Prince Toe as Coordinator and James Debbah on the vetting committee. Others appointed on the committee include former national team captain Joe Nagbe;  former female footballer Cecelia Taylor; Frederick Cole, who once played for Mighty Barrolle and the national team and former Young Eagle and Lone Star player John Brownell, amount others.

Speaking to our intern, Prince Toe said the task is to get the best coach that will produce favorable results for the Red, White and Blue boys, the nation’s pride.

“Giving the Liberian people somebody that will give them the happiness that they had in the past is what we want”, he noted. Toe said the committee may probably come up with a name this week after its first sitting.  No specific name has been identified, but there are rumors that the new coach for the Lone Star could come from France.
