72 Babies Born in Tienii Clinic in 2013

The Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of the Tienii Community Clinic in Tewor Statutory District, Grand Cape Mount County, Gayduo Bryant, has disclosed that 73 babies were born at the clinic in 2013. According to LINA, madam Bryant said the births were 42 boys and 31 girls, but expressed concern over the low turnout of pregnant women at the clinic.

Madame Bryant said due to the long distances from the villages and towns, many pregnant women in the district are not taking neo-natal medical treatment. She made the statement Tuesday at her Tienii office in an interview with the Liberia News Agency correspondent in the county.

Meanwhile, according to Madam Bryant, 12 cases of tuberculosis and one HIV/AIDS case were diagnosed at the clinic during 2013. She expressed concern about the shortage of Tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS drugs, furniture and beds in the clinic.
