Book Before Boys, partners launch “Go girls” lead mentorship Cohort 3

By Lincoln G. Peters

Book Before Boys in partnership with Lipedia on Thursday, 17 February 2022, officially launched what it calls ‘Go Girl, Lead Mentorship” capacity building program, aimed at strengthening the capacity of females across the country to end patriarchy and bridge the gender gap.

The Go Girl, Lead Mentorship program was birthed in August 2020 as an initiative to build females’ soft skills in the areas of public speaking, campaign planning, essay and poetry writing, climate change, feminism and other courses.

Speaking at a press conference Thursday, the Assistant Press and Public Affairs Director Ms. Cheadol Sidibey said the program is intended to train females to become proactive leaders from grassroots in order to break the patriarchy and bridge the gender gap.

According to Ms. Sidibey, over the past two years, the program has contributed and built the capacities of 152 young girls who have in turn impacted society in their respective ways.

She added that they have had thirteen of their graduates emerging as student council presidents of their schools, 19 valedictorians, while others are engaged in community programs like health and climate awareness, and spelling bee competition, among others.

“Based on the aforesaid, Books Before Boys, Inc. and its partner Libpedia will on February 19, 2022 launch the application for Cohort III of the Go Girl, Lead Mentorship Program,” she said.

“Our team will be responsible to take the application form on various campuses for interested students, both high schools and universities. Applicants will also be allowed to access their application on our official Facebook page at Books Before Boys, Inc. or at our head office” she noted.
