Cuttington Hosts 2nd Nat’l Agric Show

The Cuttington University in Suacoco, Bong County wil host its second National Agriculture Show  next week Thursday to Saturday on the school’s campus. The show is under the auspices of the University’s Practical Outreach for Extension and Training Services (POETS) Program, which is a component of the College of Agricultural and Integrated Development Studies.

Under the theme “Agri-business: the engine for achieving sustainable food security”, the three- day show will include stalls displaying Liberia’s agricultural crops, as well as various agro-based products and new technologies for farming.

Major events characterizing the three0day show include daily farmer training, a raffle draw, cultural performances, and prizes for the top exhibitors.

Unlike last year’s show which featured only farmers from Bong County only, farmers are expected from Lofa, Nimba, Grand Bassa counties.

The show will also highlight the achievements of Cuttington University’s College of Agriculture, CARI, and agricultural projects sponsored by the government and Liberia’s international partners.

The 3 day event will also be an occasion for farmers, businesses, government and development partners to interact, learn and discuss the issues and opportunities in Liberia’s agricultural sector.
