Finance conducts 3-day training in Buchanan

The Ministry of Finance and Development Planning has begun a three-day training workshop in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County to strengthen the capacities of line Ministries, Agencies and Commissions in Results-Based Management (RBM).

A press release from the ministry says the training will involve enhancing performance in using a systemic approach in the preparation of sectoral plans and budgets, monitoring and reporting on the implementation of sectoral plans, programs, projects and budgets.

It has brought together 60 participants from 20 line Ministries, Agencies, and Commissions.  The Ministry of Finance and Development Planning has the statutory mandate to formulate, coordinate and monitor national development plans, including the national budget.

“Government’s desire is to ensure in the next budget cycle that Ministries, Agencies and Commissions’ proposed budgets are tied-into the Agenda for Transformation (AfT), the Economic Stability Recovery Plan (ESRP), and the various sectors plans which will depict a willingness of linking budget with plan”, the release explained. -Press Release
