France Donates To LNP

The Liberia National Police have received a donation of tear gas equipment for the Police Support Unit (PSU). The donation was made by the Government of France.

Speaking when he received the donation, Police Director Marc Amblard said the equipment is intended to adequately prepare the PSU to combat violent situations.

An LNP release quotes Director Amblard as saying that additional shields and launchers are expected for the PSU in the coming weeks. He thanked the Government of France for assisting the LNP in training the PSU.

He noted that everything will be done to enhance the capacity of the PSU and ERU in enable them deal with riot and crowd control without injury and harm to civilians.

He assured that PSU will be trained to use the equipment for riot purposes. Several cartoons of tear gas and other equipment were donated.
