GVL imports mill equipment

A consignment of mill equipment valued over US$30Million has begun arriving at the Samuel A. Russ Port ofGreenville in Sinoe County, Southeast Liberia.

The multi-million dollar equipment is being shipped here by Golden Veroleum Liberia Limited in anticipation ofconstruction of a Palm Oil processing plant in the south-east region. 

The equipment is also intended for the construction of a bucking station within the Greenville Port Facility. A press release issued by the NationalPort Authority quotes Golden Veroleum authorities as saying, theequipment for the construction of the Palm Oil plant and bucking station are being shipped to Liberia upon the request of Vice President Joseph Boakai. Mr. Boakai reportedly made the request during his visit to Golden Veroleum headquarters in Indonesia.

The release said the first out of four vessels shipping the Mill equipment has already berthedand is currently being discharged at the Port of Greenville. Additional shipments are expected to follow shortly, according to Golden Veroleum management. The vessel was received at the Port of Greenville by a joint government delegation headed by Deputy Agriculture Minister Thomas Gbokie.

Minister Gbokie and Sinoe County Superintendent, Romeo Quioh, in separate remarks at a brief ceremony in the Port described the arrival of the equipment as “a dream comes true for the creation of more jobs and development in the South-eastern region”.Press Release
