A 25 years old boy, Musa Kamara, has allegedly murdered a 24-year-old Ufindi Ujang, a,k.a. ‘Fat boy’, during a quarrel in Brewerville, Montserrado County. The incident occurred on Sunday, February 15 in the Christopolic community, Brewerville city.
According to a senior brother of the accused, Kumaika Ujang, his brother and the victim had a confusion Sunday night because his (Ufindi Ujang’s) girlfriend, only identified as Janet, complained to him that the victim insulted her, which got Ufindi enraged and immediately proceeded to the late Musa’s resident where he allegedly engaged him in a fight.
Kumaika continued that during the fistfight, his brother Ufindi took a 4ft. long timber and struck the late Musa on his arm, back, and neck, inflicting severe pain on the victim, which led to his death.
The incident occurred around 03:00 a.m. Sunday morning, and the victim was subsequently taken to the John F. Kennedy Hospital in Sinkor, Monrovia where doctors on duty pronounced him dead.
While in the process of rushing the victim to the J.F.K., the accused and his girlfriend, Janet, reportedly fled the community and are presently on the run.
According to community residents, the late Musa was an easy-going young man and a popular mechanic in the area, who repaired generators and motorbikes. They described his death as a big blow to the community.
When contracted, family of the deceased said the death of their son was hurtful, declining to further speak on the issue, but to wait on the Government for speedy investigation to bring the suspect to justice.
The chief superintendent at the Police Zone 6 depot in Brewerville, Blama Yancy, told this paper the police were trying their best to track the accused first and then to proceed with investigation, assuring that, if found guilty, the law will take its course.
