Musical Concert to Mark Martin Luther King’s Birthday

The Public Affairs Section of the United States Embassy in Monrovia, in partnership with the Agape National Academy of Music, will on Saturday, January 15, present a musical concert to commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King’s Birthday.

The concert is aimed at re-enforcing Dr. King’s message of community service and social justice.  The event will also aim to inspire the youth of Liberia to play a constructive role in the 2011 elections of their country.

Performers at the concert will include Ernest Bruce, pianist Samson Tarpeh, trumpeter Bobby Lee Billy, the Monrovia Community Mass Choir, the University of Liberia Choir and the First United Methodist Church Mass Choir, among others.

Media institutions are invited to send representatives to cover the event. Reporters are advised to arrive at the program venue 30 minutes earlier, and are urged to take note of the following.
