PUL mourns fallen Journalist Moses Sonkarley

The Press Union of Liberia morns the death of broadcast journalist Moses Sonkarley. Mr. Sonkarley died after a period of illness on Saturday, June 4, 2016 in Monrovia. Sonkarley came to prominence in journalism at the defunct Liberia Communication Network (LCN) where he rose to Director of News at “Kiss FM”.

He also led the news department at the then newly established Renaissance Communication Incorporated (Truth FM & Real TV) to public recognition. Until his unfortunate demise, Sonkarley worked with the General Auditing Commission as Assistant Communication Officer.

The President of the Press Union of Liberia K. Abdullai Kamara termed Moses Sonkarley as the silent giant of Liberian Broadcast News processing. “The man lives on with great newsrooms and journalists he mentored”, the PUL President asserted.

Meanwhile, the Press Union of Liberia is urging all journalists and media workers to show up at the signing of a book of condolence in memory of fallen Journalist Moses Sonkarley at its headquarters on Clay Street in Monrovia today, Thursday, June 16, at 12 noon.

The signing of the book of condolence will precede a funeral service scheduled for the Tubman United Methodist church in Paynesville on Saturday, June 18, 2016. All journalists and media workers are urged to attend all funeral ceremonies, including a night of silent wake keeping on Friday- June 17, 2016 at the Sonkarley’s residence in Sehn Town opposite the Liberian Broadcasting System in Paynesville.
