Respect the will of the people

-Presidential Candidate Tuider

By Nanka A. Hoffman

Opposition Democratic National Allegiance (DNA) Presidential Candidate William W. Tuider, Sr, says the voting process has ended in Liberia and the right thing should be done.

Speaking at a news conference here on Monday, October 16, Mr. Tuider said whoever wins the Presidency whether old or young, the choice of the Liberian people should respected.

He recalls that bloody civil war destroyed Liberia and left 250,000 people killed from which Liberians are yet to recover, saying therefore, if anyone or small group of people feel that they can take these elections for the sake of power and cause violence, they should watch out.

The DNA Candidate vows to use his international connection to prosecute those who want to cause chaos in the elections, noting this is

Life-time commitment to ensure Liberia remains on the path of peace.

He calls on all presidential candidates who didn’t make it to the top two, including himself to join him in condemning any violence and to protect the people.

Mr. Tuider says he will reach out to all candidates soon to come together and collectively send a unified message against violence.

His Vice Standard Bearer, Jonah S. Dumoe, says they trust the elections commission to do the right thing.

He says anything that doesn’t reflect the will of the Liberian people, they will decide whether they have confidence in the process, but the will of the people is more important. Editing by Jonathan Browne
