Urey expresses frustration

The Standard Bearer of the All Liberian Party (ALP) has expressed frustrations over the bad educational system in Liberia.Mr. Benoni Urey said the educational system has become very deplorable so much so that students do not have access to chairs to sit in their various class rooms to adequately achieve the purpose for which they are in school.

Urey expresses

Mr. Urey indicated that with thousands of students in the country, the government can use US$5m to purchase chairs and desks for students across the country. The ALP flag bearer, speaking at the induction of officials of the National Private School Teachers Association- Bong County branch, told a huge crowd of students and teachers that government officials prefer using the country’s financial resource to purchase luxurious vehicles at millions of United States Dollars.

He described such action as cruel, adding that with a national budget of over US$600m, just US$5m will provide seating facilities for all students across the country. “This is complete wickedness- just US$5m to put chairs in all schools for our children to learn the people can buy it,” he stated, reminding the gathering that they now have the gavel in their hands to make decisions to change their country for the better come 2017.

He said people who are taking government ‘s money at this time have started coming for election, urging them to vote out the Unity Party that has been in power for twelve years and now attempting additional twelve years which, he said, will not be healthy for the country.

The All Liberian Party Standard Bearer then praised the teachers for their sacrifices and efforts in ensuring the education of Liberian children.
