Three armed robbery suspects with single barrel guns have been arrested along with 700 kilograms of rubber in Pleebo, Maryland County. The Press Relation office at the Headquarters of the Liberia National Police in Monrovia says the 700 Kilograms of rubber were stolen from the Cavalla Rubber Company in Maryland County.
There have been reported uprisings in Pleebo in recent times, which had ed to the death one protester. The victim is believed to have been shot twice in his leg and chest by an ERU (Emergency Response Unit) officer during a riot there.
Reports say the riot was the result of disparities between workers and the Cavalla Company over alleged payments. In contrast to police confirmation of only one death as a result of the ERU officer’s intervention, unconfirmed sources are claiming at least two deaths so far.
Notwithstanding, Police Director Marc Amblard told a news conference on Monday that the ERU officer was disrobed, disarmed and taken to River Gee for investigation.
Meanwhile, the 3 arrested armed suspects are Lincoln Sengeh (29), Ignitious Sengbeh (20) and Sunday Weah (46).
