Bong County Ends Seed Bank Project Workshop

A Seed Bank Project implementing partnership workshop on seed rice production and quality control has ended at the Central Agricultural Research Institute (CARI) in Bong County.

Speaking during the 3-day workshop, the Director of CARI, Mr. Quellibo Subah, commended the organizers for their farsightedness in the training of food growers, stressing that the workshop would help to build the capacity of Liberians in making Liberia self-sufficient in food production and exportation.

He expressed the hope of seeing participants understanding the way forward for seed rice production and quality control. For the Ministry of Agriculture’s Technical Support Assistant, Dr. Wilber Thomas, agriculture is all about growth and food security.

Mr. Thomas, who also works with USAID Liberia, said the program would address the concern to accessing market and market services, as well as effect public service and capacity to create an enabling environment.
