George Baysah Hits Target

Lone Star center defender based in Israel on Friday registered his first goal for his new side Maccabi Umi Al Fahm during his 3rd league match against Hapoel Ashkelon.

George Baysah secured his first goal of the season in the 51st minute, pushing the club in front with a 2-1 score before his teammate Y. Shawat added another in the 71st minute, which increased the tally to 3-1.

But Hapoel Ashkelon striker O. Gita was well able to beat Maccabi Umi Al Fahm defenders on the full time mark to ensure his club finished with two goals after the defenders have allowed three goals from stranger Maccabi Umi Al Fahm.

Baysah recently signed for Maccabi Umi Al Fahm in the Israeli national league after his former employer Hapoel Kfar Saba was unable to stop demands from Maccabi Umi Al Fahm for the Liberian service. He last scored in the Israeli league for Hapoel Kfar Saba during the last season campaign when he landed the only high trick from a defender in the league last season.

Meanwhile, other Liberians in the Israeli league will be in action later today: Liberia premiership last season top goal netter Vatali Sie of Hapoel Nazareth Illit will be pushing for his first goal as they honor the 11th league fixture against Hapoel Kfar Saba, former employer of the late Liberian striker Patrick Doeplah and transfer defender George Baysah.

Hapoel Nazareth Illit is bottom on the sixteen teams log with seven points from 10 league matches. Three players started this season with the club, but Ben Martin departed for private reason, leaving defender Alvin Dixon and striker Vatali Sie on the team roster.

Defender Gizzie Dorbor and attacker Stanley Wilfred will be in action today as they seek chances to push Hapoel Herzliya from the relegation zone. The team will be away to 5th spot delegation Hapoel Bnei Lod.
