Government urged to support peace initiative

Partial view of some Liberians at the Rehab Community

The Government of Liberia has been urged to support ongoing peace initiative by a local entertainment group, Harmonizers Entertainment Inc. to enable it reach all parts of the country with peace messages.
The call came recently in Rahab Community, Paynesville during a live band performance, reminding residents to help maintain peace and tranquility in Liberia.
The community of over 800 residents notes that while some well-meaning Liberians are tirelessly working to sustain peace here, others were busy vandalizing and burning properties valued thousands of dollars.
The residents warn fellow Liberians to note that the 14 years of civil war left the country completely destroyed and hundreds of thousands of innocent people killed, including women and children.
Four residents of the community, YassahBamnaba, Othello Washington, Teto Harris and Jackee Moore warn those they describe as ‘evil-minded individuals’ to stop destroying private and public properties, acts, they say are only intended to create chaos in the society.
They say in the absence of sustained peace and security, Liberia risks being plunged into another crisis, which groups like the Harmonizers and others are fighting against.
The local musical band performed recently near the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex in Paynesville outside Monrovia where hundreds of peace loving Liberians gathered in support of the community for peace, security, development initative under the banner of the Harmonizers Entertainment Inc. led by veteran Liberian musician, James Koko Chea.
Meanwhile, the peace caravan continues Saturday, 13 April in Du-Port Road community.By Emmanuel Mondaye–Editing by Jonathan Browne
