Police pick up Kalando

Police authorities here on Monday picked up businessman Atty. George Kailondo for questioning over the disappearance of Nigerian banker Mr. Don Orogun on Sunday January 24 in the Du River. The police sealed off the multi-million dollar home of Mr. Kailondo on Monday disallowing reporters entry on grounds that they were carrying on investigation.

Orogun, Managing Director of the Guaranty Trust Bank or GT Bank had gone fishing on Sunday with Kailondo in the Du River around the Barracuda Resort along the Roberts International Airport or RIA when he reportedly fell off the boat in to the river.

Sources said while in an attempt to rescue his friend (Orogun) the boat propeller wounded Kailondo in the process when he lost sight of him. As at press time there has been no confirmation as to whether the Nigerian banker is dead as the search for his living body continues.

The GT Bank issued a statement Monday evening calling on the nation to keep Mr. Orogun in prayer as police step up search for his living body. This incident comes weeks after Mr. Kailondo dedicated his multi-million dollars compound along the RIA highway.

Mr. Kailondo’s wife was expected to make a statement surrounding the situation with her husband, but nothing was heard from the family up to press time.
