Police deploy over 1000 officers

--For two by-elections

Police authorities have cautioned their officers to maintain neutrality in discharging their duties during the by-elections in Nimba and Grand Gedeh Counties.

Monrovia, April 22, 2024: The Liberia National Police (LNP) has deployed over 1,000 of its officers for Election Security (ES) in Nimba and Grand Gedeh Counties.

Before the weekend deployment, Police Deputy Inspector General for Operations Atty. Nelson Freeman cautioned officers that elections are one of the pillars of democracy.

Col. Freeman informed the officers that their performance in the field will determine whether democracy is achieved.

Col. Freeman further urged the officers to maintain neutrality in discharging their duties, saying their single action in the field could either take Liberia forward or plunge the country into conflict.
