By Emmanuel wise Jipoh

Rivergee County, part of the Southeast region described as President George Weah Stronghold has assured the Incumbent of massive votes in next week’s Presidential and general elections on Tuesday, October 10.

Scores of citizens, including youth, mostly first-time voters, men, women and elderly people of Rivergee County in southeast Liberia have stormed Fish Town, the countyā€™s capital to give President Weah, who is campaigning in the southeast, along with his entourage a rousing welcome.

Speaking during a town hall campaign rally in Fish Town, Rivergee County Superintendent Philip Q. Nyenuh, assured President Weah of a massive victory next Tuesday, October 10.

Superintendent Nyenuh said President Weah can rest assured that Rivergee stands tall in securing his re-election.

ā€œI think we’ve only gathered to tell our President thank you for the many developments across the country. Itā€™s also proper for us to come and reaffirm our support, and that we are going to give him massive votes that have never been seen in the history of Rivergeeā€, the Superintendent said.

ā€œI know that Mr. President has already won the election because if you see his work, it speaks for himā€, added, while applauding the President for his numerous developments across Liberia.

One first-time voter in the county, Solomon Dweh, thanked the President for paying WASSCE fees for students, giving them educational opportunities.

ā€œMr. President, our votes are for you and the CDC; we the first-time voters of Rivergee are going to give you 99% of our votes that will enable us to continue going to school,ā€ Dweh promised the President.

According to him, the President has demonstrated great leadership ability over the last five years and they are resolved to give Mr. Weah another six yearsā€™ mandate.

Fish Town Marketing Superintendent, Mary Geplay, extolled President Weah for always being there whenever he is called upon to intervene on their behalf.

She hailed President Weah for uplifting market women through provision of financial resources to improve their businesses.

ā€œWe, the market women of Rivergee, are with you; we thank you, Mr. President for keeping the peace of Liberia as well as projecting the image of the country positively,” she expressed.

The women were buttressed by the men, who said that once their wives, mothers, sisters, and daughters have unanimously agreed to stand with the President, they, too, have resolved to vote for him.

ā€œOnce our women have agreed, the men and young people will vote for you as well, Mr. President,ā€ a spokesman for Rivergee elders said.

According to him, River Gee is done and is a no-go zone. ā€œIf other counties don’t have reason to vote for you, Rivergee will do.ā€

They told the President there was no need to meander through the woods to reach as far as Rivergee because they have already made up their minds to reelect him.

ā€œMr. President, thank you for making the campaign so easy for us because the work you have done over the years has campaigned for you,ā€ they note.

In response, President Weah promised the people of Rivergee more developments, and boasted of gains made by his administration, pointing to road connectivity, infrastructure development and electricity, while emphasizing that his government has done much over the last five years in making his impact felt throughout Liberia.

ā€œRoad construction, health and educational infrastructures, bridges, electricity supply to both rural and urban populations, women and youth empowerment and many othersā€, Mr. Weah said, while describing himself as ā€œDevelopment Kingon.ā€ Editing by Jonathan Browne
