6 charged with armed robbery in Bong

Police in Gbarnga, Bong County have charged and sent to court six persons for alleged armed robbery and burglary.Police arrested the suspects in the wake of a reported armed robbery incident in which victim Abel Pope’s business money and other valuable items were allegedly taken from him.

Abel was alleged attacked by unidentified men in the Kokoyah Road Community in Gbarnga on 28 March.The suspects are said to have intruded into Abel’s premises and made away with LRD$500,000 plus US$400.

In addition to the cash allegedly stolen, the suspects allegedly made away with a brand-new laptop computer, customers’ phones and some scratch cards.
After police search, 12 persons were arrested, but victim Pope identified six persons including a female as the suspects.

According to Crimes Services Division (CSD) Commander John KellensoFlomo, the alleged robbers were charged on 2 April and sent to court.The six alleged armed robbers include defendants Sunday Kollie, Abraham Sanyoh, Timothy Gibson, Obediah Clarke, Prince Kollie and Marry Konneh.

The Police charge sheet reveals that the defendants were charged with armed robbery, burglary, criminal conspiracy, criminal mischief, possession of physical objects, lethal use and theft of property in line with the New Penal Code of the Republic of Liberia.
