The Acting Managing Director of the National Port Authority (NPA) Celia Cuffy-Brown, has been nominated by the international advisory board of the African Leadership Magazine for the African Female Business Leader Award.

A press release from the NPA says Madam Brown will receive the accolades at the International Forum on African Leadership (IFAL) which convenes in New York 25th September.

The forum will be held under the theme: “Peace, Security and Sustainable Development in Africa – Our Home-grown Solutions.”

The award, according to the release, recognizes exceptional leadership and managerial skill in a female business leader, who in spite of stiff competition in a male-dominated world has shown resilience, courage and sagacity in building a worthy brand.

It notes that “Brown’s leadership at NPA has brought about notable gains in financial recovery to the NPA which is the gateway to the Liberia’s economy as well as blocking leakages at the entity.”

The board also recognizes Madam Brown’s exceptional leadership, impact on the lives of both the internal and external communities and her unalloyed commitment in advancing the entrepreneurial passion at Liberia’s Sea Port.

The group applauds President George Weah and for appointing Madam Brown as Acting Managing Director at the NPA, as this is a great step towards recovering the nation’s economy.

The International Forum on African Leadership is a one-day strategic high-level summit designed to build consensus on responses towards pressing regional and international challenges guided by a shared vision, principles, aspirations, and an innovative values-based approach.
