District #11 Youths congratulate President Weah

Youths in Montserrado District#11 has congratulated President George M. Weah and Vice President Jewel Howard Taylor as they took office on Monday, 22 January. Speaking to this paper in an interview yesterday, 23 January, Timothy Benson of Barnesville said as President Weah has taken over, he hopes for the best to come.

He also expresses hope that Mr. Weah keeps to his promise and ensure that Liberians have their own businesses. He complains that foreigners have total control over the economy here, and Liberians need to take over.

Another resident of District #11 from Dixville, Robert Cooper says the people’s choice has taken over and with the help of God, he and Vice President Jewel Howard – Taylor will make Liberia a better place for living.

“I wish they had a place in the Constitution that says the President should go for more than two terms, so that President Weah can go for two terms, and in fact he should remain president forever,” says Copper. He adds that President Weah has been chosen by God to serve Liberia, noting that his destiny was delayed but was not denied.

“Now he has the mantle of authority in his hands, he will work for the betterment of all Liberians and he should also highlight education as a key priority,” Cooper indicates.

18 year old Prince Ben says the election was his first election to vote and he voted for President George M. Weah. Ben says he did so not because he plays football, but because he believes that President Weah has the vision and he is willing to work in the interest of the Liberian people.

He adds that President Weah should make education for the youth as one of his key priorities and to also strength the educational system that was termed as a mess for the past government.
