Liberians in South Sudan give to less fortunate children here

The Association of Liberians bassed in South Sudan identifies with several orphanages in Montserrado and Margibi counties with assorted food and non-food items. The items include rice, sugar, oil, toiletries, and soap, among others.

They were presented to the Frances Gaskin Rescue Home For Children in Paynesville, Montserrado County and the Christ Victory International Mission of Liberia Orphanage in Margibi County, respectively.

Making the presentation at the Frances Gaskin Rescue Home For Children, the Secretary General of the Association of Liberians in South Sudan Mrs Lorraine Kpato says the donation is the association’s way of making less fortunate children in Liberia to celebrate Christmas happily.

She says Liberians based in South Sudan care for their compatriots back home especially, less fortunate children something that prompted them to generate funds to embark on the initiative.

She further discloses that the donation is not the first, indicating that most vacations the association selects members to return home with items for the children of Liberia as their way of giving back to the country.

Madam Kpato continues that they as benefactors are concern about the future of underprivileged children in Liberia, particularly their nutrition, stressing that with very good nutrition, they will have the ability to acquire sound education.

Also speaking during the second donation at the Christ Victory International Mission of Liberia Orphanage in Margibi County, Mrs Linda Tuazama, encourages orphans there to celebrate Christmas happily.

She urges orphanage caretakers to use the gesture for its intended purpose by making the children happy during this Christmas. The Head of the Frances Gaskin Rescue Home For Children, Rev. Emmanuel Mars expresses gratitude to the association for coming to the aid of the children.

Rev. Mars says they appreciate the items because the orphanage had been faced with difficulty in finding food for the children during the Christmas festivities due to the economy situation in the country.

Also the Acting Director for Christ Victory International Mission of Liberia Orphanage, Eastman Samuel thanks the association for the Christmas gift. For his part, the Executive Director of Orphans Concern Liberia Amos Saubah extols Liberians in South Sudan for helping Liberian children. He says Orphans Concern Liberia’s prime objective is to seek assistance for various orphanages across the country as a means of empowering orphans.

Members of the Association of Liberians based in South Sudan are Abee Bah, JuwahTemeh, Victor Fagama, Mack Ogunti-Advisor, Mrs Linda Tuazama and Lorraine Kpato, Secretary General.
