Police charge Rep. Gray aide for aggravated assault

Police have charged suspect Dargbh Jugbe, 32, with multiple offense for allegedly brutalizing a businessman who allegedly argued with ruling party Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) Montserrado County Rep. Acarous Gray.

Police say defendant Jugbe, 32, faces charges of simple assault, criminal mischief and terroristic threat for allegedly injuring victim Joseph Boy Cooper on 9th Street, Sinkor on 5 June.

Police say their investigative report indicates that on Wednesday, June 5, 2019, Mr. Joseph Boye Cooper had engaged Rep. Gray in an attempt to play a gossip recording.

The victim is said to have indicated that he was informed that the Rep. Gray was in possession of the alleged gossip recording.

Police say while Rep. Gray and victim Cooper were in a verbal exchange, defendant Jugbe, a resident of the Capitol Byepass confronted Boye Cooper to tune down his voice pitch.

The defendant was allegedly claiming that Boye Cooper was speaking to an Honorable man, Rep. Gray.Police narrate further that victim Cooper hit the suspect on his left eye with a finger ring on his right hand, leaving the suspect with bruises.

In return, police indicate that the suspect hit Mr. Cooper on his head, resulting to an injury. However the police failed to say what the defendant used to wound the victim.
Additionally the investigation says defendant Jugbe further broke into the glass door (value forth coming) of the Shai-Town Sports bar in search of victim Cooper.
But the investigation says the defendant does not work with Rep. Gray, neither did Rep. Gray take him along at the Shai-Town Bar. –Press release
