Radio Harper gets 250 kilowatts transmitter

Radio Harper, a community radio station in Harper City, Maryland County has received a 250 kilowatts transmitter.The American built transmitter was donated by Mr. Eric Giko, a Marylander currently residing in the United States.

Making the presentation on Saturday, 21 October Mr. Eric Giko explains that the donation is as a result of interview conducted by this writer, who also corresponds for State radio ELBC when he (Giko) presented similar transmitter six months ago to the Voice of Truth radio in PleeboSodoken Statutory District.

He says during the interview, it was brought to his attention that the county’s premier radio station was off air for over two years due to lack of transmitter.

Mr. Giko had previously provided a 20-watt FM transmitter which the Voice of Truth is currently transmitting on. A former representative aspirant of PleeboSodoken District, Giko continues that the donation has no political motive.

However, he calls on the management of the station to use the transmitter to educate and inform community residents and urges local authorities to provide financial support for community radio stations across the county.

Receiving the transmitter, the board chair of Radio Harper Mr. Solo Gaye, lauds Mr. Giko for the 250 watts transmitter, a gesture he says, will never be forgotten. He challenges other Marylanders in Diaspora to emulate Mr. Giko’s gesture and love for his country.
