Rep. Anderson offers scholarships worth $US 4,500

Montserrado County Electoral District # 12Representative Richmond Anderson, has provided scholarship to three staffs of a local non-governmental organization, Organization for Better Liberia to study Nursing, valued at $US,4,500.00. 

Representative Anderson said that the study will be done at the Smart Institute of Management and Technology, operated by him in Sinkor, Monrovia.The Montserrado County Lawmaker made the disclosure recently at his Capitol Building office, when he was honored by the organization as its “2015 Lawmaker of the Year”.

Rep. Anderson said he was offering the scholarship as his own way of helping to buttress government’s ongoing effort aimed at improving the health care delivery system of the country.

He said despite delay in getting his district’s potion of the County Development Fund, he will continue to use his personal resources to carry out developmental initiatives that continue to put smiles on the faces of his people. The County Development Fund is currently apportioned equally across all 15 counties of Liberia, regardless of population, poverty level, economic development and other factors.

Also speaking at the ceremony, the Executive Director of the Organization for Better Liberia” Kelvin Teikah Kpakolo, said his organization honored Rep. Anderson for the level of developmental initiative in his district.

According to him, the Montserrado Lawmake is instrumental by usinghis personal resources to building bridges, recreation centers, opening of alleyand providing scholarships for less fortunate children, among others.
