Liberty Party endorses Alfred Cassell

The opposition Liberty Party or LP has endorsed its lone candidate for Montserrado County electoral district#7 in the October elections. Addressing partisans and supporters over the weekend at Wells-Hairston high school, LP chairman for Montserrado Romeo T. Coker, described the endorsement as a sign of victory.

“We have come today for primary endorsement; I was charged with the responsibility to look for candidates. Candidates that will be marketable, candidates that will be accessible to the people, and candidates we can project to regain the lost image of district number seven”, Chairman Coker notes.

He4 says the party needs somebody who will face up to rival parties such as Congress for Democratic Change and the governing Unity Party to challenge them on national issues, saying, “Our deepest worry now is how can we find somebody that will go to our people in the slum community to disseminate the message of the Liberty Party; this is the kind of person that we’ve being searching for until we receive calls from Alfred P.K. Cassell.”

The LP county chair continues that it is against this backdrop Mr. Alfred P.K. Cassell wrote the party, expressing his intention to contest on the party’s ticket. “We told him that we needed somebody that can sell us in this election, because we want to be a winner at the legislative and the presidential level, so when we interact with him, we saw that he was people-center, and someone who is prepared to take the mantle of authority; this was how we accepted Mr. Cassell as Liberty Party candidate in district # 7”.

In response, Mr. Cassell expressed gratitude to members of the LP Montserrado chapter for endorsing him to contest in the district.  “I am grateful for the opportunity giving me to contest as the lone candidate on the ticket of this great party, the change we’ve been yenning for has started, now is the time to get that change”. He says it is well understood that residents of the district are desperate of change, and vows to work with them, if giving the opportunity.
