Amb. Charles Minor Is July 26 Orator

Amb Minor NDThe Government of Liberia has announced that Liberia’s former Ambassador to the United States of America (USA) is this year’s Independence Day’s orator.

According to a Ministry of Foreign Affairs release, Amb. Charles A. Minor, this year’s July 26 orator, is the current Chairman of the Board of Tax Appeals.

He is the son of the late Methodist pastor and Mrs. E.B. Minor of Greenville, Sinoe County.

This July 26 Independence Day’s orator has also served as the Human Resource and Management Development Director of the African Management Services Company (AMSCO) in The Netherlands, where he spent 10 years.

This year’s Independence Day is under the theme, “Celebrating Our Community As A Strong Foundation for Accelerated Development.”

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has released the 168th Independence Day Calendar of Events.

On Thursday, July 16, 2015, at 6 p.m., is the Golden Image Awards and Dinner, which will be held in the Ball Room of the Monrovia, City Hall.
The next day, Friday, at 4 p.m. is the Investiture Ceremony, which will be held in the C. Cecil Dennis, Jr. Auditorium. It will be followed by a reception for the Honorees hosted by President Sirleaf in the foyer of the Foreign Affairs.

On Friday, July 24, 2015, a Thanksgiving and Intercessory Prayer will be held by the Islamic Community and will be coordinated by the National Muslim Council of Liberia, Greenville, Sinoe.

The Liberia Council of Churches will on Sunday, July 26, 2015, host a Thanksgiving and Intercessory Service, in the Barclayville City Hall in Grand Kru County.

The Guest Preacher for the Sunday service is expected to be Reverend Foday E. Karpeh. He is the founder and president of the OASIS and senior pastor, Life Center Church.-Press Release
