Call to suspend more officials over viral tape

A Civil Society actor in Bong County Mr. Aaron G.V. Juakollie has called on President George Manneh Weah to suspend Minister of State for Presidential Affairs Nathaniel McGill, Monrovia City Mayor Jefferson Kojee and Finance Minister Samuel Tweh as he launches investigation into a leaked audio recording.

The call comes in the wake of President Weah’s suspension of Bong County Superintendent Esther Walker who is heard in the recording naming McGill and Tweah as President Weah’s officials that suspect Vice President Jewel Howard – Taylor and Rep. Marvin Cole of wanting to overthrow the government.

Mr. Juakollie told a correspondent in an interview that it is a sign of partiality for President Weah to have only suspended Superintendent Walker.

Juakollie recommends that President Weah suspends the rest of the people that are mentioned in the audio if he should serve justice for all.

“You can’t only suspend Superintendent Walker and leave the rest of the people. You need to suspend all of them until the investigations are over and we know the fact,” Mr. Juakollie concludes.
