Cllr. Gongloe disappointed in PYJ

Former Labor Minister, Cllr. Tiawan Gongloe, has expressed disappointment in Nimba County Senator-elect, Prince Y. Johnson. Senator Johnson, who contested in the December 20 Special Senatorial Election as an Independent candidate, won landslide.

But Cllr. Gongloe has accused the senator of providing false information to the people of Nimba County.

Gongloe said since several children from affected communities where Arcelor Mittal operates in Nimba were arrested for allegedly staging violent demonstrations against the mining company, Senator Johnson has failed to play a major role in seeking their release or even to appeal to President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf to set them free, but rather he has allegedly been spreading false information that he [Prince Johnson] wanted to free the detainees.

According to Cllr. Gongloe, lawyers from the county have joined him to fight the company to free those being accused of vandalizing company’s properties.

He said since the case started, the Nimba Senator has not paid a visit to the children, but is rather involved with spreading false information.

Gongloe noted that Senator Prince Johnson continues to accuse the lawyers, who are fighting the case that they don’t want to have the children released.

He said recently, Sentor Johnson went to Zolowee where he provided false information to Nimbaians, accusing the lawyers of doing nothing.
