Lawmaker identifies with fire victims

Margibi County District Four Representative, Ben A. Fofana, donates construction materials and food to victims of a recent fire disaster in his district that left several residents homeless.

Rep. Fofana presents 20 bundles of zinc, 10 bags of 25-Kg bags of rice and 20 boxes of zinc nails, amongst others recently to the people of Kcor Town in Weala Clan, Electoral District Four, Margibi County.

The lawmaker expresses sorrow for the misfortune and promises to help the victims, including women and children in whatever way to restart their lives.

He describes the gesture as an initial contribution, promising to do more.
Receiving the items on behalf of the affected residents, Chief Binda Sackie, thanks Representative Fofana and assures him they will be delivered to intended beneficiaries and used for the intended purpose.

Meanwhile, Kor-ta which has over30 houses, suffered a recent fire disaster that burnt about 15 houses and several rice kitchens.

Not a single item was retrieved during the incident, which started when a two-year lad reportedly left alone in a kitchen, inadvertently set ablaze one of the thatched kitchens, which was very closed to several houses thus, spreading the flame. No casualty was reported.

The incident left over nine rice kitchens burnt without villagers taking out anything in a disaster that occurred at about 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 13th. –Editing by Jonathan Browne
