Suspected criminal found dead in 72nd Community

A man believed to be in his late 20s was found dead on Wednesday, 9 January amid reports that he had gone to steal in the 72nd Community of Paynesville, Montserrado County.

His corpse lied opposite the William Duo Housing Estate, with his two legs tied with rope. There were several pieces of breaks near the corpse, which appear to indicate that the deceased may have been mobbed to death.

His mouth was bloody, and it was further observed that his eyes suffered severe injuries like they were burst by his killers before he was disposed of on the on the main 72nd Road.

Several persons spoken at the scene where the body lied could not say exactly how the incident occurred.One lady identified as Korto Mulbah says she believed that the deceased was killed in a community situated behind the William Duo Estate and later taken to the main road.

Korto also discloses that even though the deceased was not killed in their area, her oldest sister who resides in the community where the deceased was allegedly killed had inform her (Korto) that criminals in recent times have been attacking peaceful residents under the cover of darkness.

The deceased was dressed in a long brown shirt and short blue trousers, but had no footwear on.
Our reporter sought comment from two traffic officers of the Liberia National Police (LNP) who were seen around the scene, but they refused to speak to the press.
