Weah orders update from LACC

President George Weah has order an immediate update on the list of government officials who have declared their assets.

In a written communication dated 19 February, President George Manneh Weah ordered Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) Chair Cllr. James N. Verdier, Jr. to submit the list of all Officials of Government who have declared their assets with the LACC or through the General Auditing Commission (GAC).

“By directive of the President of the Republic of Liberia, H.E. George Manneh Weah, you are requested to submit to the Office of the President, the list of all Officials of Government who have declared their assets with the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission or through the General Auditing Commission (GAC) to the LACC,” the communication says.

The communication authorized by the Minister of State for Presidential Affairs Nathaniel McGill says at the same time that President Weah would like to know whether or not an exit interview was done with former government officials.

The communication says such pertinent information is crucial so as to give the president a full appreciation of those who are in compliance with the law.

Cllr. Verdier is requested to respond to this communication by close of business today Friday, 22 February 2019.
